Serving Our Community

Servire Nostra Comunita

From 1990 to 2001 it has been my honor to serve as your City Councilor.  As co-Chair of the Cote Saint Luc Demerger Committee, I was thrilled to be a part of the movement that won the June 20, 2004 referendum to take back Cote Saint Luc.

I am especially pleased to have played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Or Hahayim Synagogue, Hebrew Academy, Beth Chabad and the expansion of Ecole Maimonides.  I also assisted in negotiating a settlement with Hydro Quebec to move back the Hydro poles at the Sabin Substation.

Prior to the 1995 Referendum I was the only Councilor in favor of passing a ¡§STAYING CANADIAN¡¨ resolution.  In October 1996 I reintroduced the Staying Canadian resolution which was passed unanimously and followed by 47 cities in Quebec representing over 1 million Quebecers, and has been a contributing factor towards the Federal Governments pro-active approach to National Unity ¡V

¡§ The Clarity Act¡¨.

Issues of concern to me include green space, development of the CP rail yards, Kildare and/or Cavendish to Royalmount extension, the library, building an  indoor swimming pool and a full recreational center to service seniors and attract young families.

Your input is vital and I have enjoyed hearing from so many of you over the years.  I look forward to continuing our special relationship.
