Mr. H. Brownstein and Mr. Prashant N.A of M/s. Brownstein, Brownstein & Associates, Montreal, Canada addressed members of the Indian Merchants' Chamber on "Business opportunities in Canada and North America" on March 24, 1995 at the Chamber premises. Brownstein Brownstein & Associates are practising lawyers in Montreal. They operate on Asian Civil law practice with concentration in commercial law, migration and citizenship law. Legal consultation for Indo-Canadian collaboration is an extended avenue of their service. Mr. Brownstein gave an overview of the liberal migration laws offered by Government of Canada to professionals from India.

Barring a few categories like doctor, most of the professionals had tremendous opportunities in Canada to migrate and settle, he informed. The government also offered extensive package of incentives to the migrant families, he said. That very simple and short formalities to be completed in India could secure good employment in Canada and North America, he added.

Besides the migration laws Mr. Brownstein also discussed opportunities Canada offered for collaborations with Indian enterprises. Following are areas were identified for Indo-Canadian collaborations by Mr. Brownstein: Agriculture, food, aircraft, automotives, biotechnology.
