The Minister will travel to India and Pakistan to promote and advance our bilateral trade and investment interests in these key regional markets and will be accompanied by a group of Canadian business leaders.
These two countries represent important markets in the Asia- Pacific region, which offer tremendous commercial opportunities for Canada. The mission will serve to showcase Canadian companies with active interests in the region. As well, sectoral meetings will be organized with senior business leaders in these markets, in order that prospects for bilateral business cooperation can be explored further.
We have enclosed a draft copy of the programme, which should help you in making your decision. You will note that the programme will focus on engaging key decision makers in these regional markets.
The cost to your company of this mission will be the basic costs of transportation, hotels and meals (preliminary estimate $7000.00). The Canadian High Commissions in Islamabad and New Delhi can, if required, coordinate an individual itinerary of one-on-one meetings for each of the delegation members according to their particular products/services and interests.
Given the short lead time on this mission, we would be grateful for an early response from you indicating your interest in participating in this mission. We would be grateful if you could fax the attached form, duly completed to (613) 996-5897 by no later than March 12, 1997. Upon receipt of your confirmation, we will send you a detailed programme outlining the times and places for the mission activities. I look forward to your early response.
Yours sincerely,
