Media negativity 'hurting investment'

Montreal must be more aggressive in attracting foreign investment - and it's partly the fault of the English media that more firms aren't locating here, says the head of a Montreal-based consulting firm looking to attract corporations to Quebec.Howard Silverman, president of Corporate Affairs International Inc., said some positive investment news doesn't get reported .... Côte St. Luc Councillor Mitchell Brownstein, an immigration lawyer, pointed out that people here on temporary work permits can send their kids to English schools. For those who become permanent residents, "have you received any exemptions ?" "We haven't, but we're working on it," Silverman said.
